Ask Nick Johnson / Services

What I can help with

Everyday tech, fixed over a call with your screen in front of you. Two options, no charge up front, and you pay only once it's working.

Prices and terms in effect from October 15, 2026. Changes are listed on the changes page.

Every request goes to me, Nick, not a call center. I read your message, reply within one business day, and if I can't fix your problem there's no charge at all.

Pay only when it's fixed

The two options

Quick fix

One problem, sorted in one short call. Most things people bring me fit here: a setting that moved, an account that won't sign in, a phone that stopped syncing, a printer that vanished from the Wi-Fi.

$75 · about 30 minutes

Session

A few things at once, setting up a new device, moving to a new phone, or a problem that needs patience to track down. We take our time and go at your pace.

$150 · up to 90 minutes

Not sure which? Pick "not sure" on the form and I'll suggest one when I reply. If a Quick fix turns into something bigger, I'll say so before the clock runs on.

The kinds of things I fix

What I don't do

If your problem is one of those, I'll tell you plainly and point you somewhere useful if I can.

How a session goes

  1. You send the help form in your own words.
  2. I reply within one business day with what I think is happening, which option fits, and a time.
  3. We get on a call. If I need to see your screen, it's only with your okay, only while we work, and you can stop at any time.
  4. When it's fixed, we agree it's fixed, and then you pay. If it isn't, you don't.
  5. Thirty days later, I delete your request. Details on the privacy page.

Before we start

Please have a current backup of your device. I work carefully, but the terms are honest about it: this is my experience and best effort, not a guarantee, and your data is yours to protect.
